Water jar silk haori robe
Matoka silk made with rolling earthenware. A fine silk cloth made with wild cocoons from South India, hand-spun and hand-woven in Bengal. This is ahimsa (non-violent) silk, the thread of which is extracted after the moth inside the cocoon has flown away. The more you use it, the more it becomes textured and familiar. Piece dyed. Ryukyu indigo reflects the universe and looks like the deep sea, Sumi-yambaru indigo layered-dye Sumi and Ryukyu indigo. The past converges with the present.
