Matoka silk made with rolling earthenware. A fine silk cloth made with wild cocoons from South India, hand-spun and hand-woven in Bengal. This is ahimsa (non-violent) silk, the thread of which is extracted after the moth inside the cocoon has flown away. The more you use it, the more it becomes textured and familiar.Piece dyed. Shell color is from white clay. The past converges with the present.
